An Award For Acting Goes To Christina Hendricks

Congratulations are in order, we feel, for the beautiful Christina Hendricks, as she’s been awarded the Critics’ Choice award for Best Actress for her role in Mad Men.

Christina Hendricks and her truly epic breasts – and epic isn’t an exaggeration or one of your hip 'young person' slang phrases, actual book-length poems have definitely been written about them by Greek chaps, we’re sure – are in Mad Men. We’re sure Mad Menis great but haven’t been able to watch a full episode because every ten minutes - without fail – we have to excuse ourselves and go for a fag.

Can’t for the life of us think why. At the end, we’re left spluttering and grimy and upset because we’ve possibly missed Christina Hendricks and her ridiculous, girl-on-a-pinball-machine, worship-them-instead-of-the-Lord-God-or-any-other-religion-you-care-to-mention breasts. Seriously. Sometimes we can’t believe that they really exist, but then pictures like these show up, and they do. It wasn’t all a dream. They really exist. Everything is okay again.

But yes. She’s quite good at acting, too, apparently, according to the Critics and their Choices. Christina shared the award not only with her spectacular breasts but also with a lady called Margo Martin for her performances in Justified, whatever that is. We’re sure it’s great and everything.

Samsung Gloria Could Be A Windows OS Powered Tablet

Engadget has posted about a new Tablet PC being developed by Samsung.

This new model is reportedly codenamed Gloria and it would feature a slide out keyboard.

Reports say that this model would feature a 10 inch touchscreen display. And Samsung is developing their own software layer to make the OS touch friendly.

Samsung currently has only one Tablet PC model on sale in the market Galaxy Tab which is based on the Android platform.

Microsoft has been talking about working with several PC makers around the world on Windows OS based Tablets. This might be one of them.

Recently new gadget comes on news Samsung Gloria a tablet it is rumored that this tablet is powered by Windows 7 , Android OS and having a 10-inch touchscreen display , first time in tablet it has slide-out QWERTY keypad. Other Important expected features are

Social Networking and Multimedia facilities.

At present time Samsung has not officially announced the Gloria tablet, so that it is not clear what features it would have and also its time of realese not declared but from SlashGear’s sources it may be released in May 2011 .

Document Extractor – A Monitor, Printer, Scanner

Every now and then something comes along that wows you with its practicality, something that just feels right. Something that makes so much sense, you have to wonder how it took so long for someone to come up with it in the first place.The Document Extractor, brainchild of Byeong Min Choe, marries your printer, scanner and monitor into one potentially perfect device.

The monitor, has a touch screen interface that allows you to select and crop the area of the page you wish to print, and the selected area will print from the back to the front of the device, dropping from your computer screen into reality.

Scanning is a similar process in which the user is able to feed the document to be scanned up into the device and Voila! It appears on your display as if you just feed it up behind the screen. The designer reminds us that the Document Extractor is not simply a space saving device, it will also save us time and resources, like ink and toner.

Document Extractor is a brain child of designer Byeong Min Choe. Designer is humble in his approach and tries to make it more utility product. Document Extractor is a touchscreen monitor as it appears and can also print and scan as well. Maker has designed a space to stock papers on its back side that slide out of the bottom of it.

This futuristic product is designed to save the time and space and we can hope that some technology developer will take note on this design and will try to convert this idea into the product.

500 MB/Sec Memory Cards With 2 TB Capacity

Hot on the heels of the latest CompactFlash specification being released, SanDisk, Nikon and Sony have joined forces to propose a new specification to better cope with the high definition demands of today and tomorrow. The new proposal will give users more than three times the data transfer speeds of the current specification, and take storage capacity into the domain of the multi-terabyte.

Last month, the CompactFlash Association announced the release of CF6.0, the latest CompactFlash specification and one that increased data throughput performance by 25 per cent to 167MB per second. That's pretty swift, but not fast enough for SanDisk, Nikon and Sony.

Rather than be limited by the current specification's reliance on the Parallel ATA interface, the three companies have proposed utilizing the versatile PCI Express instead, which could result in transfer speeds of up to 500MB per second. This would help meet the increasingly dense data needs of today's high-end digital SLR photographers, as well as users of other professional digital imaging equipment.

It should enable burst shooting of huge RAW images and significantly speed up the transfer of massive high definition images between card and computer.

Of course, it's no good bumping up the transfer speed for huge files if such a card has a relatively poor storage capacity, so the proposal also offers the potential to extend current storage limits beyond 2TB. There's help at hand for the poor overworked batteries that power our digital devices too, in the form of a built-in power scaling system.

The announcement does give a subtle hint that there may be a slight size tweak incoming, stating that the new media card would be "similar in size to a CompactFlash card." This would likely mean the necessary procurement of yet another USB card reader (I have amassed quite a collection over the years). However, that's probably a small price to pay for the marked improvements brought by the new development.

Adidas Branded HD 25-1-II Headphones

Sennheiser has announced a new version of its cool HD 25 headphones that are branded with Adidas. The headphones have the three marks on the side that the Adidas brand is famous for. The headphones are blue and black and look really cool.

They are designed to fit over the ears and be comfortable for extended wear. Adidas teamed up with a DJ with the laughable name Jaguar Skills. Mr. Skills said, “These new HD 25s are brilliant, and are more than capable of withstanding the demanding schedule of a ninja-DJ like myself. Whether I’m locked in my top-secret ninja lab, or in a club, these Sennheiser’s keep it real. And as for the new blue-pads? Fresh is the word that comes to mind!”

The real part about these headphones is that they have a frequency response of 16 – 2200 Hz and an impedance of 70 ohms. The cord is 1.5 meters and they have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wind Power Generator For Your Home

The way these “cubes” work is to be attached to a wall (outside) with three screws, click the switch to activate, and sit back to enjoy the power your mother earth is providing. Multiple cubes can be connected to not only generate more power, but strengthen their collective structure, and the fans can be pulled out or pushed back and away depending on the weather. No wonder this is a Liteon Award winning design this year..

Samsung Announces Next Generation LCD Screens, LG Works On QLED

It appears that the display wars are not going to end anytime soon. Both Samsung and LG announced new generation display technologies, which as you can imagine, promise to be better than anything you may have seen so far.

First off it was Samsung's Mobile Display division that showcased a working prototype of the Super PLS LCD. It is said to offer 100% wider viewing angles and 10% higher brightness than conventional IPS LCD screens (as the one found on the iPhone 4 and iPad). Just don't get misled by the word "conventional" - the IPS LCD unit on the iPhone 4 is among the best we've seen.

Now we can imagine 10% brightness boost can be achieved, but doubling of the viewing angles seems a rather long shot - IPS LCD just cannot be improved that much in this aspect. After all, those are already unbelievably good.

The Super PLS displays will support resolution up to to WXGA resolution (1280 x 768 pixels) and should cost about 15 percent less to manufacture. Mass production starts early next year so we will hopefully get to see them in action pretty soon - perhaps some time around the MWC 2011 the upcoming February.

On the other side of the camp, LG doesn't have a working prototype to show just yet but it has announced that it has teamed up with QD Vision for the development of Quantum Dot LED (QLED) display units. Dubbed "ultimate solution for displays" QLED should give unmatched power efficiency, providing more brightness, while consuming less power than any currently available OLED technology. Can't wait to see those too.

QLED displays should also offer more accurate colors and be cheaper to manufacture. You can find out more about them at QD Vision's website. The bad news is that QLED technology is still in development and there's no saying when it might be mounted on an actual device.
